Wernigerode (Germany)

Wernigerode is a town in the district of Harz, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Until 2007, it was the capital of the district of Wernigerode. Wernigerode Castle is located above the town. The present-day building, finished in the late 19th century, is similar in style to Neuschwanstein Castle, though its foundations are much older. The castle is open to the public and one of the most frequently visited in Saxony-Anhalt.

Unfortunately it is not allowed to take pictures inside the castle.
